Founded in Fargo, North Dakota, in 1936, Surety Life and Casualty Insurance Company has long specialized in providing insurance protection for individuals and families. Originally incorporated under the name Surety Mutual Health and Accident Insurance, the company began by offering accident and health insurance policies.
In April 2004 the company demutualized and became a stock life company, and the name of the company was change to Surety Life and Casualty Insurance Company.
In January 2005 the company expanded its life products to include final expense whole life insurance, and it started to sell whole life and graded whole life insurance.
In April 2014 the company introduced and started selling its new innovative Accident with Critical Illness Plan.
The company is currently licensed in the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, Nevada, and Arizona.
